All Maha Mala products are made with care and love for our customers. Below are a few tips on how you can take care for your products at home:

The Tassel

The tassel is made from Ahimsa silk (non-violent silk which does no harm to the silkworm when farmed). From time to time it is advisable to brush out your tassel with a fine comb. If the tassel starts to get dirty, you may wash it gently with a mild shampoo and then lay it out to dry. Our tassels are kept long as different people like different lengths, you may cut the tassel using sharp scissors. Do not cut the tassel off- this will unravel the Mala.

We double string our malas for extra strength using parachute thread, however treat your Mala with respect, it is still sacred and fragile.

All natural stones are different and some maybe more fragile than the others. Please tend to your malas carefully. We provide a soft pouch for you to protect your mala when not using it.

The Gemstones

All gemstones have metaphysical properties which can affect the wearer. We advise that from time to time to cleanse your malas by either placing them out under the rays of the full moon or to sanctify the Mala with the smoke from incense. This in fact can be applied to any semi-precious stones you have around you.
